Woodshill Byres’ 3 self-catering farm stay holiday cottages are located in the tranquil countryside near the charming South Downs village, West Chiltington. The ideal Sussex farm stay, our cottages are set within our working farm. Beautifully converted former cattle barns – Dairy Byre, Bulls Box, and Mouse House – retain their original character with stunning vaulted ceilings, exposed beams and traditional stone and brickwork, whilst providing modern comfort for our guests.
Set around a private gated courtyard on our 200-acre working livestock family farm, our cottages enjoy a prime position on the edge of the South Downs National Park. From this elevated hilltop location, you’ll be treated to outstanding panoramic views across the South Downs and Surrey Hills. The farm’s network of footpaths and bridleways winds through rolling fields and bluebell woodland, perfect for leisurely walks and cycling adventures.
Walking distance to West Chiltington village, with its welcoming Queens Head pub, village shop and historic St Mary’s church featuring remarkable twelfth-century wall paintings, completes this perfect countryside retreat, plus we’re ideal accommodation for weddings at Southlands Barn.
